How To Manage Hurdles As An Artiste - Godhope Uche ( www.houzofgeneral.com.ng)

Digest these below; before reading..

Over the past years as a musician and as a label owner, we have faced many difficulties, and It has taught us to approach problems differently, approach our work differently, and adjust to a "new" normal.

The mental strain has been particularly great for some people. I feel so bad for people who have to separate themselves because they live alone in music. quite challenging.

What can we do, then, to support ourselves when faced with difficulties? I frequently encounter difficulties in my work as an artist and creator. Even if they are not life or death, they can have a significant impact on mental health. What difficulties does an artist encounter? Over the past few Years, we have faced many difficulties and It has provided knowledge.

In these contents, we'll be more concerned about the commerce part of an artiste, that is, we'll be using words like Sell, buy, etc...

The Hurdles An Artist Faces And How To Successfully Surmount Them

False Identity Syndrome:

You know you've reached that point when you ask yourself, "Who am I to think I'm capable of selling my work?" Why then should they purchase from me? Why should they pay attention to me?

I'm not up to par: (I’m not good enough)

Even while you adore producing, there will inevitably be occasions when you doubt your abilities, especially if you're experimenting with an online media or technique. It's extremely upsetting.

Who would buy my artwork?

This one is typical of artists. In general, people are most critical of themselves, and artists appear to have that trait multiplied by 100.

People lack the funds to purchase art.

This idea is prevalent among all creators, and it, in my opinion, discourages customers from purchasing from you. It's like when you display a piece of art, you immediately assume that no one will purchase it because it is too pricey. The same folks, however, will spend $70-$100 on a pair of shoes, so why not your artwork?

People love to comment and express their appreciation for your work, but it's rare to have someone express a genuine desire to purchase it. (also a potential misconception)..

Having a location where people can go to buy your art

You can share it on social media, but they must also have a link that they can click to go to a store.

These are some of the difficulties I've encountered and occasionally still experience. How do you overcome these obstacles while continuing to develop as an artist?

HOW TO MANAGE THE ABOVE CHALLENGES.

First, False Identity Syndrome:

It's all about self-worth, a major problem in our culture. There is no quick treatment for this, but working on self-acceptance and love for oneself is essential.

I'm not up to par: (I’m not good enough)

This is once more a matter of value and respect for oneself. This was a significant problem in my own life, and it occasionally rears its head. To get rid of this, I've worked on myself utilizing EFT and constructive affirmations. These were effective for me if you are committed to have faith in yourself.

3. Who would buy my art?

This has a dual meaning because it is related to both feeling inadequate and having little faith in your own abilities. I've dealt with this a lot myself and discovered that I really don't need to pay attention to those who don't believe in my heart...

I enjoy advertising, but I also write a lot of pieces for amusement. I'm still putting effort into this aspect! In my opinion, a sale needs to feel genuine and beneficial. I truly enjoy sales and can completely understand why someone would find anything useful; however, I don't always see this with my own work. Very funny.

5. Providing a store where people can buy

This is MASSIVE! What activities do you have on social media? Do you actually provide a site for people to visit these images, or are you just publishing lovely pictures? There should be a CTA (call to action). On Instagram, I have one that links to various alternatives in my bio. You're mobile.

I hope this has clarified a few areas you can focus on to better yourself and your art company. Self-development is a huge component of the adventure that is life. Have success and keep creating.

I just had to begin with the above points and way out of the box, in this particular phrase.

One bitter you need to know, here is - "HURDLES WILL EVER REMAIN, FOR MUSICIANS, ARTISTE, AND CREATIVES" . and this is because we live in a world full of competition and strive. so educate your mind, and mental state to adapt and adjust to every hurdle...

One of the unavoidable way's to overcome challenges is to simply "ACCEPT" it and work on it.

We appreciate your patience in reading this piece, do well to anticipate the Version 1.2 (V1.2)

PAY MUSIC, BEFORE IT PAY'S YOU | @houzofgeneral

These are but just mere earnings from songs in the real sense or digital distribution. All of these, listed above remain the aim Of every artist, musician, songwriter and ultimately entertainer.

Firstly, it is our pleasure to share this inspiring piece with you, and we trust it to be a worthwhile read.

Music has a long-standing definition as an organized sound, that is, sounds pleasing to the ears. This points to the fact that any unorganized sound that is not pleasant to the ear should never be called music.

Every artist and a musically inclined person should be earning profitably from the craft of music, but before it does, have it registered on your mind that "if music must pay you, you must pay music first"

Most rising artists who are energetically fighting to attain stardom, however, do not regard the strive inherent to attending that feat.

Regardless, some artists are most likely to attain success and fame with a twinkle of an eye, some call it "Grace".
But trust me, music demands a whole lot from every artiste who's passionate and ready to scale through the hurdles to attain a height of success.

How Do You Pay Music?

1.Be intentional about succeeding and avoid bad energy.

2.Be ready to serve.

3.Define your sound, and leave a signature in the minds of everyone who hears your song.

4.Explore various ways to help boost your visibility.

5.Learn promotional strategies and know which one works for you.

6.Create an income source to find your music career.

7.Be prepared to accept trials and errors.

8. Avoid negative opinions about people's success, it's highly detrimental to growth.

9. Never borrow to fund your career as an independent artist.

9. Avoid peer pressure that might mislead you.

10. Be focused and take notes of mistakes you make through your journey.

11. Maintain self-love and value.

12. Music pays a consistent artiste who is ready to work, with less target to record label deals.

What this means is that record labels would only consider an artiste who is intentional,

focused, and industrious. Record labels consider many criteria before signing an artiste, so Ling as the music biz is concerned.

No record label would gladly want to sign an artiste who's got low market value, both creatively, financially, mentally, etc

Fame has no fixed time to manifest, it hits at any time and you decide whether or not to respond to it.

I hope this content is helpful so far, kindly drop a comment below, should it be a question, be rest assured that our content team are always ready to respond to all your questions.

Former South African President, Nelson Mandela’s once-elegant Houghton home in Johannesburg is now an abandoned eyesore.

The house at 12th Avenue in which some of the world’s leading figures were hosted in, was until last year occupied by Mandela’s grandchildren, Ndaba, Mbuso and Andile, who are the sons of the late Makgatho Mandela. Makgatho was Madiba’s son by his first wife, Evelyn.

Sunday Times reported that the electric gate is seemingly broken, portions of the roof fascia are missing or collapsing, the tennis court is crumbling and the tiled roof of one of the outbuildings is sagging.

Nelson Mandela

The once-manicured pavement garden where well-wishers placed stones painted with messages of hope shortly before Madiba’s death in 2013,  is now overgrown and littered with rubbish.

It was also learnt that the three brothers lived in the house after Mandela’s death, but Ndaba said they moved out after the Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (NRM) Family Trust stopped paying the utility bills.

The house is owned by Mandela’s company, Iterele Investments. On his death, Iterele and the house vested in his estate under the control of the executors which include former deputy chief justice Dikgang Moseneke.

Nelson Mandela

Mandela bequeathed the shares in Iterele, and therefore the house to the trust. However, the estate is yet to effect this transfer.

When the Sunday Times team visited the house last week, a man who opened the gate said it was being sold. He said;

“I have come to help Mandela’s grandsons … We have put furniture in storerooms. From last week people have been to see the house.”

Ndaba Mandela had accused Moseneke and advocate Wim Trengove, a trustee of the NRM Family Trust of displacing him and his brothers by failing to pay the municipal bills. He alleged they wanted to sell the house. Moseneke and Trengove dismissed the allegations, saying the trust stopped paying the bills after they suddenly more than tripled to about R50,000 a month.

Nelson Mandela

Mandela’s will stipulated that he wanted Makgatho and his children to have use of the house “in perpetuity”.

“The trustees shall … pay all assessment rates and other municipal charges and fees in respect of the Houghton property … and maintain the Houghton property in good order and condition.”

Ndaba however alleged that trustees failed to stick the willl. He said;

"The trustees decided not to pay for lights in order to kick us out”, and it was the trust’s fault that the house was now an eyesore.

“Moseneke brought people to the house without telling the family so they could do an evaluation. The house is worth between R10m and R15m."

Nelson Mandela

He added that while the majority of the family had voted to sell the house, “he was one of the few who voted not to. It belongs in the family. I will fight for it, with everything that I have.”

Moseneke on his own part said he had performed his duties “lawfully, honestly and to the best of my ability, properly assisted by two reputable law firms who manage the day-to-day affairs of the deceased estate”.

He added “I have [alerted] the law firms to these manifold bizarre imputations. I have served as executor at no remuneration. I deny any act of impropriety. I will not respond to baseless accusations.”

One of the trustees, Mr Trengrove however stated that the trust had no legal responsibility to contribute towards the house’s upkeep and municipal bills but had to do so because the family “implored the trust to help.

Nelson Mandela

Trengrove reiterated that they stopped paying the bills because they “shot up from about R15,000 per month to about R50,000 per month without any explanation”.

He said;

“We resumed payment, and paid all the arrears, when the bills came down again to their former level.

“We stopped paying because we felt that we could not spend R50,000 per month of the trust’s money, for which it had no liability, without any explanation for the inordinately high bills.”

Trengrove also revealed that an “overwhelming” majority of Mandela family members had agreed that the house should be sold “if and when” it is transferred to the trust.

Ndaba however defended the bills increment by stating that it shot up due to a leak. He averred that it was repaired at his cost.

Danish aid worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén  on Thursday, shared before and after photos of a young boy they rescued in Akwa Ibom on December 2019 after he was branded a witch, shunned and left to die.

Amazing transformation! Young boy branded a witch in Akwa Ibom, shunned and left to die, thrives after testing positive for HIV

The condition of the child was so critical that they feared he won't survive but one year after his rescue, Saviour Udem is thriving and doing well despite having tested positive for HIV.

Amazing transformation! Young boy branded a witch in Akwa Ibom, shunned and left to die, thrives after testing positive for HIV

Sharing before and after photos of Udem, Ms Loven wrote;

"Exactly a year ago exactly we were called to look at a serious case. A young boy had been spotted along the road and he was in a life-threatening condition,"

''It was just before Christmas and we were all busy decorating Land of Hope for our big Christmas party and suddenly we had to rush and prepare for a rescue mission.

"When we found Saviour he was in serious pain. I was not even sure if he would survive. When I made the update on the day of his rescue I wrote “his condition is critical” and that was because what we worried later turned out to be the case.

Saviour was tested positive for HIV and when infected, most children in Africa die within one year because of the lack of treatment.

Nine out of 10 children aged 0-19 years living with HIV are in Africa and one of the best ways to fight stigma and empower HIV-positive people is by SPEAKING OUT openly and honestly.

For many years we have educated our children about AIDS and they know that HIV does not make people dangerous and together with our staff they are at the forefront in school to enlighten their fellow students not to discriminate people who are HIV-positive.

As Nelson Mandela said: “Let us give publicity to HIV/AIDS and not hide it, because that is the only way to make it appear like a normal illness”.

Saviour was rescued in time and the urgent treatment we gave him saved his life. Today, one year after his rescue Saviour is a very strong and happy child. He loves to go to school and to play football

Saviour is so much enjoying his new life at Land of Hope where he is constantly surrounded by love, care and protection thanks to all for your amazing support.

Sydney Barber has made history as the first black woman to serve as a brigade commander at the US Navy Academy.

USA Today reports that she will be the 16th woman to hold the highly esteemed position since women became welcome in the Naval Academy in 1972. It should be noted that the first woman to hold the position was Juliane Gallina in 1992.

In a statement, Barber said she is really humbled by it all, especially how it placed her to play a big role in American history.

Barber is presently studying mechanical engineering and one day hopes to become a Marine Corps officer.

The black woman said she was inspired by Jaine Mines who was the first black woman to graduate from the academy.

In response, Mines said the lady's comment really made her emotional.

It should be noted that Barber is not the only first black person to make history in the military recently. Madeline Swegle earlier in July became a fighter pilot.

One swears, one laughs and before you know it, it’s like an old working men’s club scenario where they are all just swearing and laughing’ Five newly adopted parrots at a wildlife park in Lincolnshire have been temporarily removed from public view after they began swearing at visitors.

The bawdy birds became residents at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park on 15 August, and taught each other obscenities while quarantined together in the same room, said the park’s chief executive.

Steve Nichols said the swearing made staff around the park laugh, but this only encouraged the five African grey parrots to keep going.

He told Lincolnshire Live  the park had previously taken in parrots “that have sometimes had a bit of blue language” and it is “very comical”.

“But, just by coincidence, we took in five in the same week and because they were all quarantined together, it meant that one room was just full of swearing birds,” he said.
“The more they swear the more you usually laugh which then triggers them to swear again.
“But when you get four or five together that have learned the swearing and naturally learnt the laughing, so when one swears, one laughs and before you know it, it just got to be like an old working men’s club scenario where they are all just swearing and laughing.”
The park put the birds out on display when it reopened after the coronavirus lockdown, but it didn’t take long for the birds to start lobbing obscenities at returning visitors.
“Literally within 20 minutes of being in the introductory we were told that they had sworn at a customer and for the next group of people, all sorts of obscenities came out,” said Mr Nichols.
He said although the customers had seen the funny side of the situation, they made the decision to withdraw the foul-mouthed flock from public view as a weekend was coming up and there would be children present.
The parrots have been placed in an “off-shore enclosure” surrounded by other parrots, and the park hopes the other noises will have a good influence on the blue birds. The park is home to 1,500  parrots.
They will be released in separate areas so if they do let out profanities, “it is not as bad as three or four of them all blasting it out at once”.
The pandemic has hit the park hard, but the swearing parrots have been a source of laughter and light relief for the staff during what has been a “real rough year”, Mr Nichols said.
He added the charity is set to lose between £30,000 to £40,000 this year, but the chief executive said staff remain “eternal optimists” and “have to keep moving forward”.
And the five foul-mouthed birds are not the only parrots at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park who seem to enjoy entertaining visitors.
Footage of a Chico, a a nine-year-old yellow-crowned amazon parrot, singing Beyoncé’s ”If I Were a Boy” went viral on social media earlier this month.

World Record For Sleeping With the Most Men

It seems like nowadays, there is a record book for just about everything under the sun, no matter how ridiculous or cringeworthy. One of the most eccentric records that we have come across in recent times is that of a woman who holds the world record for sleeping with the most men in a single day.
This rather questionable record is held by United States adult actress Lisa Sparks, alternatively spelt as Lisa Sparxxx, who is said to have slept with 919 men in a single day. Technically, she achieved the questionable feat in only 12 hours.
Lisa Sparks set this rather unusual record on October 16, 2004, in Warsaw, Poland during the adult convention, Eroticon 2004. The actress took the challenge as part of the Third Annual World Gangbang Championship, where she was competing against two other women.
Lisa won the competition by having sex with 919 men over a period of 12 hours. In order to set the record, the men were only allowed 45 seconds with the actress. One of the women she was competing against was the former world record holder who had sex with 759 men in a day. On the day, Lisa Sparks won the competition after sleeping with 21 more men that the person who came second.

World Record For Sleeping With the Most Men

Prior to Sparks’ questionable achievement, Polish adult actress Marianna Rokita held the record after sleeping with 759 men in one day. Prior to that another adult actress, Klaudia Figura held the record after sleeping with 646 men in one day.
Surprisingly, however, despite working in the adult film industry for several years and starring in more than 188 films, Lisa Sparks has been married since 1995.

Belgian model Marisa Papen describes herself as a "free-spirited and wild hearted expressionist"

Marisa Papen shared the stunning pictures taken by Australian photographer Jesse Walker
The nude model who caused a worldwide stir after a secret photoshoot inside one of Egypt's most ancient temples landed her in jail has now appeared naked among one of Africa's painted tribes.
Marisa Papen was at the centre of a worldwide controversy after she was imprisoned for posing nude in the vast temple complex of Karnak, near the city of Luxor earlier this month.

The Belgian model has now shared stunning pictures taken by Australian photographer Jesse Walker from their African trip that saw her walk naked among the members of an isolated Ethiopian tribe.

She also spoke out about the remarkable stories she heard during her time their and about how beauty and nudity is seen by tribe members.

The Belgian model travelled to Africa to walk naked among the members of an isolated Ethiopian tribe

Papen, who describes herself as a "free-spirited and wild hearted expressionist", said: "They have their own customs and beliefs, their own beauty-standards, their own religion, living life in harmony with nature and the spirit world. "You may say, they are totally different then we are. But to me they are, what we once were. In touch with nature, a part of nature, immensely grateful and respectful towards it."
Papen travelled with Walker to the isolated Omo Valley in south-western Ethiopia, where she lived for a week with the Surma tribe.

Papen travelled with Walker to the isolated Omo Valley in south-western Ethiopia
The model lived for a week with the isolated Surma tribe
Papen said: "What we claim to call beautiful in our Western world isn’t quite the same how the Surma tribe pursues beauty.
"Both Surma men and woman pierce their ears, some woman stretch their lower lip with a plate. They scar their bodies by making little cuts repetitively.
"Isn’t it funny we invented all these creams, lasers and other treatments to get rid of ours."
The Surma have a long history of body painting and use pulverised minerals they create drawings and patterns, something which Papen tried on her own body.
"Not only is it an expression of emotion and art, there’s also a more practical reason behind it," Papen said.
"Different colours are used for different rituals, to prevent illness, to attract the opposite sex or to relate to family members or certain animals."

The Surma have a long history of body painting
Marisa Papen was at the centre of a worldwide controversy after she was imprisoned for posing nude in the vast temple complex of Karnak
Papen explained that during the first day she did not take the camera out as she wanted first to mingle among the tribe and not to be perceived as a tourist.
She said: "As intrigued as I was by their appearance, they were [also intrigued] by me. A month before this trip I decided to shave my head. I figured I’d look less like a stranger, having the same haircut as they do.
"It worked. Until they touched it. The different texture of my millimetred hair compared to theirs entertained them for a full hour, maybe even longer. At that exact moment their pure energy became truly palpable to me. I literally felt vibrations when some of them were rubbing my head. It was pure magic."

Papen said that about once or twice a year Western tourists visit the tribe and she thinks that globalisation might change some of their unique characteristics in the future
Papen added that her admiration grew every day as she observed the cultural differences between the Surma and her world.
Papen said: "One time I was resting in the shade of a sculptural tree and I was watching two men and a woman from a distance, they were just sitting in the grass, playing with some leaves and collecting some stones. I was trying to go back in my memory and imagine that same exact situation happening in our 'civilised' world - I couldn’t."
Walker, who had photographed Ethiopia's Omo Valley before, had arranged for a guide who speaks Amharic and Oromo, although the Surma have their own distinct vocabulary.
Papen said: "I communicated with them through sign language and tried to mimic their sounds. It was actually not that hard to understand each other because life is so simple there."

Papen added that her admiration grew every day as she observed the cultural differences between the Surma and her world
Another difference which Papen noted was how the Surma look at nudity in general.
Papen explained that the tribe members dress according to preference or the situation they are in. If they are in big groups, they usually cover their genitals, but when they are washing or painting themselves everyone is naked.
Only if they go hunting or go for long hikes through forested areas do they wear a cape as a protective measure.
Another remarkable difference, according to Papen, is how breastfeeding is seen by the Surma as something natural, which can be done in the open.
Papen said that about once or twice a year Western tourists visit the tribe and she thinks that globalisation might change some of their unique characteristics in the future.
"Sometimes tourists leave behind Western clothes, and because for them [the Surma] it is of course something exotic so they wear it with lots of pride," she said.
"Personally I found that a shame to see, but I fear there is no way back when it comes to this."

A private jet owned by the late US financier Jeffrey Epstein now lies abandoned and covered in dust on a Georgia runway, racking up thousands of dollars in storage fees.

Prosecutors alleged that the abandoned Boeing 747 jet – dubbed the ‘Lolita Express’ was used by Epstein to transport his sex trafficking young victims between his sprawling homes in New York, New Mexico, Paris, the US Virgin Islands, and Palm Beach.

Recall the billionaire financier committed suicide at the Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center last august while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

The 66-year-old was accused of having sex with girls as young as age 14 in the early 2000s at Epstein's residences in Manhattan and Florida, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to Daily Mail, the 1969-built plane whisked prominent guests including Bill Clinton, Britain's Prince Andrew, supermodel Naomi Campbell and actor Kevin Spacey to exotic locations across the globe.

The report said the jet took off for its final flight on July 11, 2016, from Florida’s Palm Beach International Airport at 11.39am, arriving at its current location at Georgia’s Brunswick Golden Isles Airport 51 minutes later.

Since then it has been abandoned, costing around $1,000 a month in storage.

When Daily Mail boarded the plane, they found the once-plush interior, including deep-pile carpets, throw blankets, and fluffy pillows, infested with mold and mildew.

They also found monogrammed tissues and a bottle of baby lotion stored in Epstein’s private wood-panelled bathroom. Wet wipes, tissues with Epstein's tail number on them, baby power and other toiletries were seen in a cabinet in the plane's bathroom.

Federal aviation records reveal the aircraft has been unregistered since 2019, meaning it cannot be legally flown.

The luxury commercial jet is currently parked up on a ramp belonging to Stambaugh Aviation, an independent jet maintenance firm.

The firm's joint owner Mark Stambaugh said he was initially happy to store the aircraft for free, but later started charging around $1,000 a month when it became clear nothing was happening.

As a father of two daughters, I'm not real thrilled with having it here. But I guess an airplane is just an airplane,' Stambaugh told DailyMail.com.

'Somebody needs to come and do something with it or it needs to be scrapped because it's just going to sit here and keep deteriorating.'

According to Stambaugh, he's owed $11,000 in unpaid storage.

'The paint is chalking because it's been sitting in the sun for so long. Until it gets to the point where the paint bubbles out you won't see it, but trust me, there's a lot of corrosion on that airplane,' he added.

'Internally, in the belly, when you open that up you're going to find corrosion and other issues as well.

'As far as the interior, given that it's been sitting in this heat for years it's not in bad shape but I don't know that it has any real value.

'There's a lot of mold and mildew. That just happens, it's the southeast.'

Since Jeffrey Epstein's death, his alleged co-conspirators, including British socialite Ghisilaine Maxwell, has been and charged with sex trafficking offences.
