The Vice Chairman of Oruk Anam Local Government Council, Hon. Abasiama Etukakpan has been served another impeachment notice by the Oruk Anam Legislative Council.
Abasiama Etukakpan was “impeached” on March 23, 2021 by the councilors over alleged inconsistency in his date of birth.
But the House of Assembly on Tuesday 3rd August, 2021 ordered his immediate reinstatement, saying the impeachment was a complete illegality.
On Friday morning, Etukakpan was served another impeachment notice by the leader of the legislative council.
Etukakpan is accused of absenteeism from official duties, financial impropriety and threat to councilors. The Vice Chairman has been given 24 hours to respond to the allegations or face another impeachment.
