Two teenagers from How Mine Secondary School have been arrested after they allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl at a community hall.

The teenagers reportedly gave her some sweets to buy her silence.

B-Metro reports that a family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the two suspects were aged 14 and 15 years old.

Allegations are that the 15-year-old teenager master-minded the rape ordeal by giving the Grade Two pupil sweets and after that inviting the minor to a community hall to play.

When they got there he played with the unsuspecting child and after some minutes they were joined by his 14-year-old friend, the source said.

The publication also reports that a source close to the investigations said one of the rape suspects undressed the minor and the two then took turns to rape her.

After the act, the 15-year-old gave the minor more sweets so as to buy her silence, said the source.

The source said after the ghastly act, the minor bled and walked with difficulty. Her mother got suspicious when she saw her walking in that state and asked what happened to her.

She revealed to her mother what had happened. She was taken to How Mine clinic, where she was referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH), where she was examined and it was confirmed she was raped.

The minor’s mother reported the rape incident at How Mine police base leading to the arrest of the two suspects.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
