Miss South Africa organizers have announced their top 15 semi-finalists and South Africa is talking!
The list was announced last Wednesday night on an Instagram live with the reigning holder of the crown Sasha-Lee Oliver gracing the occasion.
The organizers handed over power to the public to determine through a vote, who to go further to the next round of 10 and compete in the finale which will be held late this year.

While we can not say who is to take the crown this year, South Africans on Twitter have come out in full support of one notable aspirant, Abigail Musida.

Here’s How To Vote

The voting method is done in 3 bundles priced at R20 – 4 votes; R50 – 12 votes (two free votes) and R100 – 25 votes respectively.
Those who want to vote can go to the Miss SA website – misssa.co.za – click on the Miss South Africa 2020 tab, select the semi-finalist profile of their choice and her Computicket voting link will open. Payment can be made using a credit card.
To vote using cash: Go to the money market counter in store (at any Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Shoprite or Usave). Choose your voting bundle – R20, R50 or R100 and the cashier will cast your votes on the Computicket system and print your voting receipt. There will be three voting bundles available: R20 – 4 votes; R50 – 12 votes (two free votes) and R100 – 25 votes (five free votes).
However, netizens on Twitter have lamented over the pricing on the votes which is somewhat exclusionary of voters not affording the fee – especially amid the pandemic that has seen a lot of people losing jobs and failing to fend for themselves.
Miss South Africa beauty pageant is organised by Weil Entertainment in conjunction with Sun International and LFP Group. Its tradition has been that every crown holder is sent to represent in the Miss Universe and Miss World competitions.
The previous winner of the competition, Zozibini Tunzi historically won the Miss Universe crown last year.
This year, however, Miss SA organisers have noted that they will only be fielding their candidate on Miss Supernational.
