Foreigners Arrested For Trafficking Monkeys From DRC To South Africa 
Four foreigners comprising of two Congolese, one Zambian, one Malawian national were arrested yesterday by Zimbabwe National Parks officials after they were found trafficking 26 monkeys from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to South Africa without documentation. 

Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management intercepted a truck carrying monkeys from DRC to South Africa.
Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management spokesperson, Tinashe Farawo confirmed the case and told 263Chat that they are working on returning the animals to DRC.
He said the four are expected to appear in court today or tomorrow. Farawo said:
Four men were arrested yesterday for animal tracking without traveling documents and we are expecting them to appear in court today or tomorrow.
He added that they are working with the Zambian Parks and Wildlife Management Authority in repatriating the monkeys. He said:

We are working in hand with Zambian Parks and Wildlife Management Authority and everyone because we have many areas in which we work together. We have intercepted with a view of repatriating the Monkeys back to DRC but we are still investigating the issue.
Wildlife trafficking is the third most valuable illicit trade in the world, after drugs and weapons, and is worth an estimated $10 billion a year, according to the US State Department.
Meanwhile, Parks authorities are still investigating the mysterious death of 22 elephants at Hwange National Park.
Farawo further explained that they are still waiting for blood samples which they took to a laboratory for analysis to determine the cause of their deaths.
He stated:
We are still waiting for the blood results but there was a suspicion that it might be a bacterial infection and we are yet to confirm.

Woman dies during baptism after being grabbed by 'mermaids' 



A 26-year-old woman iidentified as Rutendo Nhemachena has reportedly died while undergoing baptism at Manyame river in Zimbabwe.

Nhemachena is believed to have been possessed by a mermaid spirit before becoming violent and jumping into the river where the leading prophet, Isaac Manyemba was cleansing men and women with his aide only identified as Mai Manyika or Madzimai Jennifer.

HMetro reported that the people who were with her believed that she had been grabbed by a mermaid and didn’t try to rescue her. Manyemba confirmed the tragic event by saying Nhemachena overpowered him and seemed like she was possessed by a mermaid spirit.

The Prophet said;

“The two convinced me and I led them to the river where we attended to a number of men and women when Nhemachena suddenly came into the river possessed.
“She pushed all of us and we failed to handle her before she immersed me and disappeared into the water.
“We were comforted by one woman who claimed that her child was once taken by a mermaid when he was seven years old and returned from water at the age of 14."

Nhemachena family spokesperson, Patience Gwebede however denied suggestions that the deceased was abducted by a mermaid. She said the deceased was going to be buried in Chihota after a post mortem.

He said;

“We are expecting the law to take its course as well as get an explanation from the traditional healer or Madzibaba and Madzimai who were conducting the cleansing ceremony."

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the mishap and said the police are still investigating the circumstances leading to the drowning.

Man mauled to death by two beloved white lions in horror attack while playfighting in South Africa



A  nature lover who reared two rare white lions from when they were cubs was mauled to death by them in a horror attack.

Conservationist West Mathewson, 68, was playfully wrestling his beloved lionesses Demi and Tanner on Wednesday, August 26, when one of them turned on him.

His wife Gill, 65, attempted to save her husband by distracting the 400lb lionnesses, but they had already inflicted fatal injuries.

He was badly injured and died from his injuries on his way to the hospital.

This isn't the first time the lionesses have killed someone. In 2017, they clawed a farm worker to death at Mr Mathewson’s safari known as Tree Top Lodge at Hoedspruit near South Africa’s Kruger National Park.

However, West Mathewson had continued to playfight and exercise them every day, believing they would never attack him.

A lodge spokesman confirmed that Demi and Tanner would "definitely not be put down."

They added: "West loved those cats as much as he loved his children and spent much of the day with them every day.

"They didn’t mean him any harm and it was just a tragic accident."

Despite the previous fatal attack, tourists had continued to flock in their thousands to walk with the animals.

Zimbabwe makes it illegal for schools to expel pregnant girls



Zimbabwe has made it illegal for schools to expel pupils who get pregnant, a measure aimed at tackling gender inequality in the classroom and discouraging many girls from dropping out of school.

According to Zimbabwean media, a legal amendment was announced last week and it seeks to reinforce a 1999 guideline that was patchily implemented.

The decision was reportedly made over fears of a rise in sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancies as schools have been closed since the Coronavirus pandemic struck.

Many parents of pregnant girls, or the girls themselves, decide to quit schooling due to the pregnancy, and schools do not always do enough to encourage them to stay, officials say.

“I’m expecting every parent and guardian and everyone else to understand that every child must be assisted by all of us to go to school,” Cain Mathema, the education minister in charge of schools, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation this week

“Every child whether boy or girl... has a right to go to school in Zimbabwe,” he said.

In 2018, 12.5% of the country’s roughly 57,500 school dropouts stopped attending classes due to pregnancy or marriage reasons - almost all of them girls, according to Education Ministry statistics.

Sibusisiwe Ndlovu, the communications specialist at Plan International Zimbabwe welcomed the new legislation as a step in the right direction.

 “This amendment is crucial in fulfilling the access to education right for all children – especially girls,” Ndlovu said.

Man Reportedly Snatches Wife Of Chinese Boss After He Failed To Pay Him His Salary

 

A man has reportedly snatched his Chinese boss’ wife as payback for non-payment of salary in due time.
The man who was peeved over the delaying of his salary by the Chinese boss decided to pay his boss back by snatching his wife.
The man shared a photo of himself and the wife of his Chinese boss on Whatsapp with the woman looking completely exhausted and sleepy while lying on the man’s chest.

The Chinese boss after seeing the photo of his wife with his worker reported the incident to the police.The Zambian police are currently on the hunt for the man for reportedly sneaking away with his boss’ wife after he failed to pay his full salary.

There was drama in the Somali Parliament when Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed got involved in an altercation with Prime Minister , Mahdi Mohamed Guled, during a press conference.
In a video which has surfaced online, the president and his prime Minister exchanged  blows on live television after a disagreement.

It took a whole group of men to separate the two who looked like they would have had a wrestling match that would’ve gone for hours.



It is not yet understood what led to the altercation because the two were holding hands and the next thing, fists were flying.
The country has always been fraught with political tensions and has been without an effective central government since 1991
Militants control large parts of southern and central Somalia.
Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed was once the Prime Minister of Somalia before be resigned back in 2011 and returned as president in 2017.
Mahdi Mohamed Guled was appointed as the country’s acting prime minister following the impeachment of Hassan Ali Khaire by Parliament.
The previous prime minister Khaire lost a vote of no-confidence in Parliament following a possible disagreement with the president over the forthcoming elections.
Somalia is due to have elections which would see them having the closet thing to a democratic government after nearly 3 decades.
Somalian politics have always been tense mostly due to clan politics
The current power-sharing structure, implemented in 2000 at the Arta Peace Conference in Djibouti toward the end of the civil war, is a clan based power sharing structure.
In the 4.5 system, the four main clans are given equal stakes in the government, while the minority clans together share the 0.5 stake.

Nigeria: Kwara man allegedly rejects his daughter because she has blue eyes



A little girl with blue eyes has allegedly been rejected by her father because of her eye colour, it has been claimed.

 

Alabi Rukayat Oyindamola shared the girl's story on Facebook. She explained that she met the girl's family when she travelled to Ilorin for the Eid break. She further claimed that the father rejected the girl and her late sister because of their blue eyes.

 

Sharing photos of the girl, she wrote: "Hello! I traveled to ilorin this Eid period and I saw this small girl she lives around my house(ilorin). Her name is Kaosara she is 8years of age, she is an indigen, she also has a junior sister Hassanat (kehinde). her taiwo is late due to lack of proper care and and rejection from the father because she has special qualities(her blue eyes). Her mother's name is Risiqot."

Tourist had part of his arm ripped off by a lion as he slept in a tent in Tanzania alongside his wife


A couple is suing after they were attacked by a lion who crept into their tent while they were on a luxury safari.

Patrick Fourgeaud and his wife Brigitte Fourgeaud, 63, were camping in the Ruaha National Park, in Tanzania, when a lion crept in and ripped part of Patrick Fourgeaud's left arm off.

 

The couple is now suing the British company that organised their holiday.

 

The victim's wife, Brigitte Fourgeaud, 63, said: "I will never forget that moment when I woke up to see the lion there.

 

"I thought we were both going to die. The attack will stay with me for the rest of my life."

 

The couple, who are French, thought they were completely safe in their mesh tent during the holiday in August 2015.

 

But as they settled down for the night in the Kichaka Ruaha Camp, they became aware of the lion sniffing Mrs Fourgeaud's back.

 

Then it pounced on Mr Fourgeaud, 64, and tore at him before it was finally scared off.

"Nothing will change what we have been through, but we both believe that more could have been done to prevent what happened," said Mrs Fourgeaud. "We both want to ensure that this doesn't happen to other holidaymakers again."

 

The Fourgeauds are now suing Africa Travel Resource, who are based in Dorking, Sussex, and describe themselves as "The world's leading tailor-made safari company."

 

The company has denied any responsibility for the injuries suffered by Mr Fourgeaud, or the psychological distress that the couple, from Mont-Saxonnex, in the French Alps, both continue to suffer.

 

Leane Shanks, of Irwin Mitchell, the law firm representing the Fourgeauds, said: "Four years on from this horrific attack, Patrick and Brigitte are still trying to come to terms with the ordeal they faced that night.

 

"Having always been passionate about seeing animals in the wild, and having been on several safaris in Africa in the past, they had booked this holiday to an area of Africa that they particularly loved.

 

"Tour operators and holiday firms have a duty of care to ensure the safety of customers, and in this case we believe this did not happen.

 

"Patrick and Brigitte believe that no-one was keeping a constant watch throughout the night over the camp while they were sleeping in their tents.

 

"In addition, they were given no adequate advice by their guide on the particular risks that night of camping in that location.

 

"This is astonishing when the tents were set up at a location which we understand was known to be frequented by lions and other wild animals at night."

Two gunmen are shot dead by a congregant in church as they tried to rob the congregation during Sunday service in South Africa



Two gunmen were shot dead on Sunday by Pieter van der Westhuizen, the brother of South African rugby legend Joost van der Westhuizen as they tried to rob a congregation during a church service yesterday.

Three robbers stormed the Querencia Ministries church in Wierda Park, Centurion, South Africa, on Sunday and proceeded to try and rob members of the congregation at gunpoint.

According to Netwerk24, two of the robbers were then killed by Pieter van der Westhuizen who was among the congregation. The third robber was wounded but managed to escape using the car they came with.

According to Ruan Heyns of the Community Emergency Response Team, the pastor of the church, Kobus Erasmus and other worshippers were pushed around and pistol-whipped by the men.

According to Ruan, at one point one of the robbers reportedly held a pistol to Erasmus' head.

The shooter, Van der Westhuizen - a former police officer himself, is co-operating with the police investigation and his lawyer Ulrich Roux has said his client acted in self-defence when he used the weapon to shoot the attackers. 

The shooter's older brother, Joost van der Westhuizen, made 89 appearances in test matches for the national team, scoring 38 tries and participated in three Rugby World Cups. He died in 2017 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

Horror As Man Sets Self On Fire After Getting Ditched By ‘Baby Mama’

In a sad development, a 28-year-old Zimbabwean man set himself on ablaze in Eastern Johannesburg,  South Africa. He couldn’t stand the sight of his ‘baby mama’ with other men. It is alleged that he doused himself first with petrol before setting himself on fire.
Ibomtv has established that Tinashe Marimo, who hailed from Chitungwiza, allegedly committed the act in a fit of rage. He was hospitalized for a few days with severe third-degree burns. Unfortunately, he eventually succumbed to the injuries.

Sources close to the late Marimo, say that the now deceased once had a romantic relationship with a 38-year-old woman named Lizzie Ndlovu who is ten years his senior. However, after Lizzie broke up with him last year in December, he couldn’t cope with the reality of Lizzie moving on and being in another relationship.
“The two had an on-and-off relationship and seemingly the woman had more power financially. At first, they were so much in love and were inseparable. They actually had a child together but they would fight a lot. Lizzie finally called it quits in December and they were staying in separate places,” said a source close to the two.
The late Marimo was a qualified truck mechanic and a multi-talented musician, his genre was Zimdancehall. The source added that,
“Tinashe was a ‘hustler’ but things were not going well for him due to this Covid-19 pandemic. He had been trying to reconcile with Lizzie who had since moved on. He didn’t take this lightly possibly resulting in what he did.”
On the night in question, Murimo is alleged to have barged into his baby mama’s house already dripping of petrol and lit himself on fire. Neighbors rushed in with buckets full of water to try and extinguish the fire. He was rushed to the hospital with third-degree burns.
This is the first time the now deceased Murimo has tried to kill himself.  Another source said,
“Apparently this is not the first time Tinashe attempted to take his life. A few years ago he attempted to hang himself”
Murimo’s body was repatriated back to Zimbabwe on Wednesday. His relatives are deeply hurt by what happened, some even fainted, during body viewing. Marimo relatives suspect foul play as they can’t believe Marimo would set himself on fire.

A South African woman, Thabisa Ralawe’s life had turned into a living nightmare, after she exposed an SA based, Zim pastor for fake healing miracles.
Speaking to a South African publication, Ralawe said her life has been difficult for the past 2 years and she’s still living in fear after she exposed the shady elements at her former church.

The pastor in question, known as Jay Israel, originally comes from Zimbabwe although, he uses an alias in his documents.
Pastor Jay Israel publicly apologized to Ralawe on a youtube video and admitted to performing fake miracles as well as running his church like a cult.
Pastor Jay Israel rose to fame with his healing miracles which involved wheelchair bound people walking again.
Ralawe at the time, worked as the church’s public relations officer.
When asked about pastor Jay Israel’s apology, Ralawe had this to say.
“I don’t take his apology seriously as he did not look sincere. He was just smiling right through the apology.
“When I asked him why he decided to apologise now, which is two years later, he said he had repented and had to face God. The apology was part of his journey. However, he failed to tell me what he was apologising for.”

She said after exposing the pastor 2 Years ago, her life has been hellish, she received death threats, and had her car tyres slashed.
She said she also suffered loss of income after he dragged her name in the mud and  accused her of being bitter that he turned down her se_xual advances. 
“I received three-year contracts from different nonprofit organisations for motivational talks and to empower girls and divorced women. After the allegations… they pulled out because of reputational damage.”
She said her problems started when she was introduced to the church in June 2017.

She was offered the PR job when she doused the social media attacks, Jay Israel was getting from preaching about abstinence in young, unmarried people.
She said she was bothered about prophecy time in the church.
“He always wanted the congregation to close their eyes but one day I decided to keep my eyes opened. That is when I discovered that there were people guiding him to choose congregants he would prophesy about.
She claims he had a list of people who had professed their problems beforehand and then he would pretend as if God gave him a directive to prophesy on the person.
She claimed he had a couple of professionally hired actors at his service to participate in the miracles session.
“There were many miracles that did not make sense and I felt so bad to be part of the scam.
She said that the police failed her and pastor Jay Israel has since moved from East London.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Khaya Tonjeni confirmed that Ralawe opened an intimidation case.
There are no arrests that have been made and the investigation continues,” he said

Egypt’s efforts in Libya to activate free will of Libyan people: Al-Sisi

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met in Cairo, on Thursday, with representatives of the Libyan tribes. The meeting, entitled “Egypt, Libya - one people, one destiny”, reviewed Egypt’s efforts and role in ending the Libyan conflict and saving its unity and sovereignty.

Al-Sisi stressed that the main objective behind his country’s efforts regarding Libya has been to activate the free will of the Libyan people, to improve the country’s future for coming generations. 
“Libya’s security and stability is part of Egypt’s national security. We want a unified state in Libya. The Libyan people who will decide the destiny of their country, and Egypt rejects foreign interventions in Libya’s affairs,” Al-Sisi stressed.
He added that Egypt has suffered from terrorism, and it will not allow militias in Libya to come closer to Egypt.
“Egypt will never let Libya turn into centre for terrorism even if it has to [militarily] enter Libya. Despite having strongest army in Africa and region, and its ability to intervene to change the scene, Egypt insists on peaceful solution,” the president said.
Al-Sisi renewed call for training and preparation of Libyan youth as cornerstone of a Libyan army, explaining that the Libyan parliament is only legitimate elected body in country, and has requested Egypt’s support in facing foreign interventions.
The Egyptian president stressed that Libyan tribes have important role to play in supporting political resolutions and Egyptian intervention in Libya.
During an inspection of Egypt’s Western Military Zone in June, Al-Sisi said that Egypt is ready to support Libyan tribes in defending their country’s security and stability. He also emphasised Egypt’s readiness to receive, train and prepare some members of Libya’s tribes. 
In a statement early on Tuesday, Libya’s House of Representatives said that Egypt has the right to intervene in Libya to protect the national security of both countries. It added that Egypt also has the right to deter “the blatant Turkish intervention and invasion of Libya”, if it observes an imminent threat.
The Libyan parliament asserted that it is the only elected and legitimate representative of the Libyan people. It added that it welcomes comments made by President Al-Sisi in late June, in the presence of Libyan tribal representatives, in which he said Egypt is ready to intervene in the war-torn country “if the Libyan people asked us”.

ZImbabewe: LSU Lecturer Pounces On Desperate Students: No Sex, No Trip

A senior lecturer at Lupane State University (LSU)  is in hot water as he stands accused of demanding sex from students in return for university -facilitated trips.
This is not the first time a university in Zimbabwe has been involved in a sex scandal. In most scenarios, it is lecturers demanding sex from students for better grades.
Ibomt tvhas learned from a local publication that Dr. Thulani Dube who is the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences and also senior advisor of the University Christian Union at LSU is alleged to be demanding sex from students.

One of the students whom he was having his ‘sexcapades’ with before a nasty break-up decided to spill the beans and claimed, Dube had a tendency of targeting and selecting female students that he would sleep with during trips and few male students.
“Most of the students that he pounces on are in the Climate Change Club who work with him as research assistants. He would select female students that he targets to have sexual sojourns with and a few male students. He would propose love during the trip. It becomes difficult to turn down his sexual advances because of fear of being dropped from the next trip and losing out on the US$30 per day. That is equivalent to someone’s salary,” she said.
It is alleged that Dr. Dube had an affair with four students and in return, they were selected to go to conferences like the Climate Change Conference and Climate Change Research Project. However, two students who called him out about his sexcapades where dropped from the trip.

“Two students who complained to him about his sexual affairs with other students were dropped from the trips,” said the student.
Efforts to contact him proved fruitless as he didn’t pick up. He only responded the next day on Whatsapp. He argued that this is just a ploy to destroy his reputation. In his response to the allegation, he said that,
“The truth is this is a politically-motivated story. There is no truth at all behind it. As you may be aware the university Pro-Vice-Chancellor is moving to Gwanda State University. The next line of leadership to fill up the gap is at my level. There is a group of people who have come up with a strategy to soil my name for a position I’m not even interested in.”

Bush Worshippers Discover Dumped Body Of Missing Bulawayo Man
The corpse of a missing Bulawayo man was discovered by two worshippers in a bush with strangulation marks, in what is suspected to be a murder case.
It is alleged that two worshippers came across a dead man’s body as they went to their shrine for prayers in Cowdray Park suburb.
IBOMTV has learned from a local publication that, the now deceased was reported missing on Friday after his relatives failed to locate his whereabouts.
Bulawayo Police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed that the incident happened at Siphaziphazi.
He said that,
“We are dealing with a case in which two people found a dead body in a bushy area as they were going to their prayers in the area known as Siphaziphazi. The incident happened at around 2 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2020. As they went about their business, they noticed a body lying lifeless.

“The body was found about 30 meters from a car suspected to belong to the deceased, which was parked in the area. The deceased person had been reported missing the previous day. We are treating the case as murder and our forensics team is at work as strangulation marks were found on the deceased person’s neck.”
The body was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for a post mortem.

The identity of the deceased is still being withheld as his next of kin are yet to be notified.
The police are calling on anyone who has information pertaining to the incident to come forward and help the police with the investigations.
“We call on members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the murder suspects(s) who are still at large,” said Inspector Ncube.
This murder case follows another murder reported in Luveve suburb which happened on the same day, of a man who was killed in his house by a quarantine center escapee who had allegedly stolen his cellphone and groceries.
Inspector Ncube is calling members of the public to desist from resorting to violence and committing crime.
“We also call on the public desist from crime. We cannot have two murders in neighboring suburbs on the same day. We urge the public to report the criminals because they live amongst us. If there are people who have come from elsewhere, and they are suspicious, report them to the nearest police station. Of late we are having cases of people escaping from quarantine centers. Do not harbor them, some of them are criminals. Report them to the police and report families that are harboring these criminals,” said Insp Ncube.

She was aged 59.
She died on Sunday night at a hospital in Johannesburg. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
She is survived by her four children Zoleka, Zondwa, Bambatha and Zwelabo and her husband Molapo.
Her death was confirmed by her son Bambatha.
He posted a photo of his late mother on Instagram, with the caption:“Lala ngo xolo Madlomo”, which translates to English as “Sleep in peace Madam”

Sudan to allow alcohol consumption; decriminalises leaving Islam

For the first time in decades, Sudan is to allow non-Muslims drink alcohol. The country has also scrapped laws that had made leaving Islam potentially punishable by death, the justice minister said.

The raft of amendments comes a year after Islamist dictator Omar al-Bashir was toppled following mass protests against his three-decade rule.

Sudan now “allows non-Muslims to consume alcohol on the condition it doesn’t disturb the peace and they don’t do so in public,” Justice Minister Nasredeen Abdulbari said in an interview Saturday evening on state television.

While Islamic tradition forbids the faithful from drinking, Muslim-majority Sudan has a significant Christian minority.

Abdulbari, part of a transitional government that took power after Bashir’s ouster, also announced that converting from Islam to another religion would be decriminalised.

“No one has the right to accuse any person or group of being an infidel… this threatens the safety and security of society and leads to revenge killings,” he said.

Many Muslim-majority countries apply Islamic laws making leaving the faith punishable by death.

Bashir, who had enforced such rules after coming to power in an Islamist-backed 1989 coup, was toppled by the army following mass protests over the country’s worsening economic crisis.

Human rights groups regularly condemned the toppled autocrat’s treatment of non-Muslims especially the Christian minority.

Copts, Catholics, Anglicans and a number of other denominations are present in the country but Bashir’s Islamist regime had driven many of them underground.

In 2014 a Sudanese woman was sentenced to death for converting from Islam to Christianity, triggering an international outcry.

Her conviction was later quashed after a global campaign to free her, and she escaped to the United States.

Ivory Coast Vice President Daniel Kablan Duncan resigns

Daniel Kablan Duncan, the Vice President of Ivory Coast has resigned from his position as confirmed by the presidency on Monday July 13.

Patrick Achi, the secretary-general of the presidency told reporters that the 77-year-old resigned due to personal reasons.

Achi said in a statement;

"The President of the Republic proceeded on Wednesday, July 8, to the signing of a decree terminating the functions of Daniel Kablan Duncan as vice president of the Republic.
"After several talks, the last of which took place on Tuesday, July 7, President Alassane Ouattara took note of this resignation and proceeded to sign the decree terminating Daniel Kablan Duncan."

Daniel Kablan previously served as Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire from 1993-1999 under Henri Konan Bedié and again from 2012-2017 under the current president, Ouattara.

He resigned from his position days after the sudden death of Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly, who was also the ruling party’s candidate for October’s presidential election.

Two naval officers, a male and a female, were shot dead by yet to be identified persons along the Lokoja-Okene Expressway in Kogi State today July 9.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at about 6:00pm today. The officers were traveling in a Toyota Sienna bus when they were stopped by the gunmen who opened fire, killing them on the spot.

This comes a few days after a Nigerian Army officer, GSM Abubakar, was killed along the same highway. Abubakar, a captain attached to the 353 Artillery Regiment, Ojo, Lagos, was traveling from Lagos to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in company with his wife and mother to participate in this year’s junior officers course when bandits opened fire on them, killing the soldier instantly.

The Kogi state police command is yet to comment on the incident.

Woman caught in bed with Pastor reveals why she got intimate with him

A 55-year-old Kenyan woman identified as Jane Omwaga underwent cleansing rituals on Tuesday July 7, after being caught engaging in sexual intercourse with a 52-year-old pastor, Moses Olutatwa on Monday July 6 in her matrimonial home at Elukho Village in Lurambi Constituency, Kakamega County.

The lady was caught in the act after her husband, Josephat Omwaga who works as a security guard at a local market returned home unannounced.

It was gathered that the paramour who is a Pastor at Solid Rock for Jesus Christ Church in Lurambi (where Jane fellowships) fled from the scene, leaving behind his motorcycle and some of his clothes.

The mother of three who explained why she got intimate with her pastor, accused her husband of not fulfilling his sexual and financial obligations.

Jane said;

“The pastor came to my home at 5am and knocked on my door, I let him in. We storied for some time and, thereafter, got in bed. We got intimate, and while at it, I heard my husband knocking on the door. The pastor and I hopped out of bed. I, thereafter, opened the backdoor for him (Olutatwa) to escape. However, my husband managed to open the main door and got in before the pastor could get far. However, my lover managed to pass through a barbed wire fence as my husband chased him with a panga in his hands.
“The pastor had seduced me recently. He said he wanted me, both emotionally and sexually. And, because he had shown that he had my interest at heart — by offering me financial and emotional support — I decided to allow him have sex with me. It was the first time he and I were getting intimate. My husband’s constant insecurity — that I was cheating on him — also pushed me to actually do it."

Omwaga on his own part, said he won't forgive his wife of 20 years for cheating on him. He said;

“Had I busted my wife having sex with the pastor in a sugarcane plantation or maize plantation, I would have forgiven her. However, she chose to disrespect me by bringing another man to our matrimonial bed, that is the highest level of disrespect, and I won’t tolerate it. I have made it clear to my spouse that I am divorcing her, and I would, thereafter, sell the parcel of land where our matrimonial home seats on, and relocate elsewhere."

Before returning to her parents’ home in Khwisero Constituency, Kakamega County, Jane and Moses Olutatwa were asked to produce one cow each.

Jackson Makale, a Luhya elder told K24 Digital that the act of offering a cow each, would shield the wrongdoers’ families against misfortunes such as mysterious ailments or even deaths.

Area chief, Alex Mutende also condemned the incident and further revealed that the police has launched investigations into the ''shameful incident.''

A man who hails from Chikanga has been confining his wife in their house and denying her access to the toilet.
The matter only came to light after Mr Denford Rwanga was dragged to court by his wife, Ms Anna Nyamachure.

Ms Anna Nyamachure was seeking a protection against her husband and the court granted the order in her favor.
Mr Rwanga was barred from harassing, assaulting, insulting and barring Ms Nyamachure from accessing the toilet at any given time and subjecting her to inhuman treatment. 
Said the magistrate
“You are very abusive. Marriage should not be a trap and everyone should enjoy their rights. You cannot stop her from being friends with whoever she wants and you definitely cannot deny her access her to the toilet. This is a warning and if you do any of the above after this order has been granted, you will be arrested,” .
Ms Nyamachure described her husband as a tyrant who abuses his power as the head of the family.
She said she felt like a prisoner in her own house.
She told the magistrate that he confines her inside the house yet their toilet is outside.

Mrs Nyamachure said he didn’t allow her to go anywhere without his permission which he rarely gives.
“He forbids me from befriending our fellow tenants and neighbours, whom he accuses of being promiscuous,”
She said Mr Rwanga was in the habit of selling her jewellery and clothes to raise money for beer.
Mr Rwanga however begged for forgiveness and has since stopped taking alcohol.
He said he forbade her from befriending her neighbor because the latter is a promiscuous woman.
