US Federal prosecutors have said that rioters who seized the Capitol last week had an intention of "capturing and assassinating elected officials."

In a new court filing which includes a memo seeking to keep Jacob Anthony Chansley who rallied people inside the Capitol using a bullhorn in detention, it was gathered that he left a note for Vice President Mike Pence warning that “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming”.

The filing added;

“Strong evidence, including Chansley’s own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that the intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States government."

The disclosure which was made by the Justice Department lawyers in Arizona, as security agencies continue digging deep to uncover what happened.

Capitol rioters planned to capture and kill politicians - Feds

Prosecutors and federal agents have begun bringing more serious charges tied to violence at the Capitol, including against a retired firefighter, Robert Sanford, that he hurled a fire extinguisher at the head of one police officer and another, Peter Stager, accused of beating a different officer with a pole bearing an American flag.

In Chansley’s case, prosecutors said the charges “involve active participation in an insurrection attempting to violently overthrow the United States government”, and warned that “the insurrection is still in progress” as law enforcement prepares for more demonstrations in Washington and state capitals.

Asides alleging that Chansley suffered from drug abuse, mental illness and poses a serious flight risk, the prosecutors further stated that he "has spoken openly about his belief that he is an alien, a higher being, and he is here on Earth to ascend to another reality.” He is due in federal court in Arizona on Friday January 15, for a detention hearing.

In a separate case, prosecutors in Texas court alleged that a retired Air Force reservist who carried plastic zip tie-like restraints on the Senate floor may have intended to restrain lawmakers.

The justice department has brought more than 80 criminal cases in connection with the violent riots at the US Capitol last week, in which Trump’s supporters stormed the building, ransacked offices, and in some cases attacked police.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday January 6, told supporters that he would never concede the 2020 presidential election to President-elect Joe Biden as Congress convened to affirm the Democrat's victory in the November election.

“The media is the biggest problem we have,” Trump said in the opening moments of his address to a crowd of tens of thousands in the National Mall at the “Save America” rally. He once again falsely accused “the media” of helping to “rig” the election results in favor of his Democratic challenger, President-elect Joe Biden.

“We will never give up. We will never concede,” Trump said. The rally crowd at times chanted “USA! USA! USA!” After Trump used the vulgarity, the chant shifted to “Bullshit! Bullshit! Bullshit!”

He urged Vice President Mike Pence to help overturn Joe Biden’s victory in the November election when Congress sits later to certify the Electoral College votes.

“If Mike Pence does the right thing we win the election,” Mr Trump said.

“All Vice President Pence has to do is send it back to the states to recertify and we become president and you are the happiest people,” Mr Trump said.

But Mr Pence later defied the president’s call, saying “he does not have the power to discard electoral votes”.

The vice-president issued a statement saying it was “my considered judgment that my oath to support and defend the Constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not”.

Lou Murray, a life insurance salesman from Boston, said he and many others still hoped Congress and Vice President Mike Pence would not certify the vote.

“I hope Vice President Pence has courage today, and I hope any politician who thinks he has a future shows courage to stand up and do what’s right,” Mr Murray said.

Nancy Pelosi has been narrowly re-elected as speaker of the United States House of Representatives as the 117th Congress took office on Sunday Sunday January 3.

After serving for 17 years in charge of the House Democrats, Pelosi ran unopposed in her election, winning the election with 216 votes to secure a fourth - and likely final term leading the House.

The California Democrat is the first woman to be speaker, leading the House from 2006 to 2011, and since the Democrats took back the House in 2018.

Pelosi, 80, is the third speaker in the last 25 years to win with less than 218 votes, after former Republican Speakers Newt Gingrich and Paul Ryan.

“I am enormously grateful for the trust that Members have placed in me, I am confident that the Speaker's election today will show a united Democratic Caucus ready to meet the challenges ahead, "she wrote in a letter to her Democratic caucus after her re-election win.

“As we are sworn in today, we accept responsibility as daunting and demanding as any that previous generations of leadership have faced. We begin the new Congress during a time of extraordinary difficulty,” Pelosi said in a floor speech that noted the deaths of more than 350,000 Americans from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now is a time for our nation to heal. Our most urgent priority will continue to be defeating the coronavirus. And defeat it, we will,” the 80-year-old California Democrat added, pledging that further aid would follow the latest $892bn package that Congress passed in December.

In the Senate, Vice President Mike Pence swore in 32 senators on Sunday, administering the oath of office in pairs due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“To say the new Congress convenes at a challenging time would be an understatement,” Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said as the chamber opened.

“From political division to a deadly pandemic to adversaries around the world, the hurdles before us are many and they are serious … But there is also plenty of reason for hope,” the Kentucky Republican added, citing the ongoing roll out of coronavirus vaccine.

“I’d say 2021 looks bright already.”

Lin Qi, chairman and CEO of the Chinese entertainment company Yoozoo Group and a producer on Netflix's upcoming series  The Three-Body Problem, has died after he was allegedly poisoned by a co-worker amid fights among his company's executives'

His company, Yoozoo Group confirmed that Lin died on Christmas Day after having been hospitalized about a week earlier. He was 39.

Police in Shanghai are currently investigating his death, and have reportedly arrested a suspect only named Xu, who Chinese media outlets have identified as Lin's colleague at Yoozoo, Xu Yao.

Local reports also allege that a dispute among Yoozoo executives led to Lin's death after he was allegdlly poisoned via aged pu’er tea.

The China Economic Weekly, a magazine with ties to the People’s Daily, mouthpiece of the ruling Communist Party, said that Xu is suspected of having poisoned Lin due to “work disputes” that resulted in the former’s salary being cut. He may have administered the poison via medication, it added.

A doctor surnamed Zhou who attended to Lin was cited by other outlets as saying the executive had eaten blueberries the day he fell ill, but it remains unclear whether they were a source of poison.

Zhou speculated that based on his symptoms, Lin may have encountered a neurotoxin like the deadly tetrodotoxin found in pufferfish. Two other outlets said he may have been hit with a cocktail of different poisons.

Shanghai-headquartered, Shenzhen-listed Yoozoo said in a statement that it had received notice of Lin’s passing via his family.

“The board of directors gives its highest respects to the chairman for his contributions to the firm,” it said, adding that Yoozoo executives and employees felt “deep grief and mourning, and send their sincere condolences to the family.”

Lin, who founded Yoozoo in 2009, helped steer its successful transition from producing online games to mobile games. He was an executive producer on Netflix's forthcoming adaptation of The Three-Body Problem along with Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.

A Russian billionaire has reportedly been found dead in Zanzibar while on holiday with his daughter and a mystery woman.

Igor Sosin, a retail magnate, and portfolio investor, who earlier recovered from coronavirus had intended to celebrate the New Year in Zanzibar before his sudden death.

The 53-year-old father of six was spending the festive holiday with his daughter Taisia, 18, and a mystery woman as he was reported to have been going through a divorce with his third wife.

According to Mail Online, his family said he could not be woken and doctors pronounced him dead.

The cause of death is not yet established.

His estranged third wife, Inna, was flying back to Moscow from a trip to the Bahamas after receiving news of his death.

Sosin was known for his love of lavish parties, yachts, tennis, and skiing.

In the US, he often rented a luxury house on Ox Pasture Lane in elite Southampton for almost £650,000, a property boasting 10 acres, two pools and a 50ft water fountain.

He famously held a swanky Fourth of July party at the property.

In 2015, the family was hit by tragedy when his son Egor, then 19, strangled and repeatedly struck his mother Anastasia Sosina-Novikova with a phone charger cable. Anastasis was Sosin's second wife.

The King of Thailand's mistress has had 1,400 naked photos leaked in a "revenge porn" attack by her enemies.

A huge cache of explicit images show the lover of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, 68, naked or semi-naked and have been sent to critics of the royal family.

Reports claim the release of the photos is a bid to "sabotage" mistress Sineenat Wongvajirapakdi, also known as Koi.

It is thought to be connected to a bitter rivalry between the king's mistress and his wife.

The pictures, thought to have been taken by Sineenat herself, were sent to British journalist Andrew MacGregor Marshall who has written critical articles about the Thai monarchy.

He wrote on Facebook: "The photographs are clearly from Koi's personal phones.

"Most of the images are photographs she took of herself, and dozens of them are very explicit.

"It seems probable that she had taken these explicit photographs of herself to send to Vajiralongkorn (the king)."

The 1,443 photos were taken between 2012 and 2014 and include revealing shots of the 35-year-old mistress topless and in skimpy nightwear.

It is claimed the king's lover had been seeking to undermine the king's official wife and former consort, Queen Suthida, and the pair have a bitter rivalry.

The king appointed Sineenat as his official mistress in 2019. Sineenat has trained as a pilot and is a major-general.

Thai King

The leaked nudes comes shortly after Sineenat, 35, rejoined the royal harem after being dramatically expelled and imprisoned last year.

Mr Marshall rejected claims the release of the racy images was the work of "pro-democracy Thai hackers", adding: "This is almost certainly untrue.

"Koi's return was bitterly opposed by palace factions supporting Queen Suthida and Princess Bajrakitiyabha and it is highly probable the images of Koi were leaked in an effort to sabotage her return as Vajiralongkorn's consort."

King Vajiralongkorn, who took the throne after his father died in 2016, was the first Thai monarch to take an official mistress in almost a century because the previous kings were monogamous.

He had made Queen Suthida, 42, his fourth wife just three months earlier.

But last October, less than three months after making Sineenat his royal consort, the king issued a command taking back the appointment and sending her to prison. An official statement accusing her of being "dishonourable, lacking gratitude (and of) disobedience against the king and the queen".

Sineenat returned to the royal circle in August this year.

The United States has executed Brandon Bernard, a Black man involved in the 1999 killing of a couple despite appeals from advocacy groups, jurors, and others after President Donald Trump ordered series of prisoner executions in his final days in office.

Bernard, 40, from Texas, was on Thursday, December 10, given a lethal injection at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He was 18 when he and four other teenagers participated in the murders of Todd and Stacie Bagley, a couple on their way from a Sunday church service in Killeen, Texas in 1999.

Bernard is the ninth federal inmate who has been executed since July when US President Donald Trump lifted a 17-year freeze on federal executions.

His execution came days after Trump ordered series of federal executions in his final days in office after losing his re-election to Democrat Joe Biden.

Bernard's case drew the attention of anti-death penalty advocates, celebrities including reality star Kim Kardashian as they pleaded for pardon and highlighted several factors including his age when the crime occurred and how race influenced his sentencing.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a nationwide civil rights group, tweeted before Thursday’s execution that “5 of the 9 jurors who sentenced him to die, as well as the appellate prosecutor who pushed for a death sentence, now do not believe he should die”.

“The federal government should not be allowed to kill Brandon Bernard – or anyone. Tonight’s execution should not go forward,” the group said.

Reality TV star, Kim Kardashian was among those who had asked Trump to stop the execution.

She made a last-minute appeal on Thursday, saying she had spoken to Bernard on the phone shortly before his execution.

The mother of four later confirmed his death in a series of tweets and revealed his last messages before he was put to death.

Diego Maradona's body has arrived at the presidential palace in Argentina to lie in state as the grieving country prepares to pay its last respects to the football legend.

The Argentina icon, who was the manager of Argentinian club side Gimnasia passed away aged 60 on Wednesday, November 25, after suffering a cardiac arrest in his home country.

An autopsy report leaked to Argentine media said he died in his sleep after suffering heart failure, only two weeks after leaving hospital following surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

Medics also detected dilated cardiomyopathy, a medical condition in which the heart muscle becomes weakened and enlarged and cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body.

His nephew, Johnny Esposito was the last person to see him alive, according to the report, before doctors who had an appointment to see him went to his estate on Wednesday and found him unresponsive.

His last words before he died were: “I don’t feel well.”

Esposito said Maradona complained that he didn’t feel well after having breakfast on Wednesday before returning to bed in the Buenos Aires mansion.

As a crowd of weeping fans gathered outside the presidential palace on Thursday morning, Maradona's coffin was lifted out of an ambulance and brought into the palace where it will lie in state for three-day national mourning declared by the Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez.

During his time with Italian side Napoli, he won the Serie A title in 1987 and 1990, along with an Italian Cup in 1987 and a Uefa Cup in 1991.

In 1999 and 2000 he was taken to hospital suffering heart problems, the second time requiring a respirator to breathe.

In 2004, he was again treated in hospital for severe heart and respiratory problems linked to his drug abuse.

 - Michelle Obama said she was hurt and disappointed by the victory of Donald Trump in 2016

- The former first lady said it was hard for her to forgive but she knew she had to put the anger aside

- According to Michelle, the family of former president George Bush had done the same for her and Obama, and this enabled a smooth transition of power

Following Donald Trump's refusal to concede defeat, former US first lady Michelle Obama has joined her husband Barack Obama in urging the president to facilitate a smooth transition of power to projected president-elect Joe Biden.

Michelle made this known in a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, November 16. The former first lady painted a picture of how she felt four years ago when Trump won the 2016 presidential election, and by a bigger margin floored her preferred candidate. Hillary Clinton.

The mother of two said Trump's victory "hurt and disappointed" her but she was alive to the fact that "the Americans had spoken" and the presidency had to listen.

According to Michelle, the then-president-elect (Trump) had "spread racist lies" about her husband Obama whose eight-years term at the helm of the US had just ended.

"I was not ready to forgive. However, for the sake of our country, I had to find maturity to put anger aside," she wrote.

Just like ex-president George W. Bush and her wife Laura Bush ushered them (Obama and Michelle) at the White House in 2009, Michelle said, as a tradition, she invited Trump's wife Melania at her official residence and chatted with her on what to expect during her stay.

Among things she talked about with Melania include "how to raise children at the White House".

"None of this was easy for me," she continued adding she knew in her heart it was the right thing to do since democracy is so much bigger than anybody’s ego.

The former first lady said Obama instructed his staff to brief Trump's team on the strides he had made to ease transition of power, just like George and Laura Bush had done.

It is in this light that Michelle urged Trump to put the country first and to respect results of an election.

"The conspiracy theories put our country’s health and security in danger," Michelle said in reference to Trump's denial of Biden's victory.

Obama believes Trump should have accepted his fate even a day after the election was concluded.

He urged the president to put the nation first and be remembered as one who was humble enough to shelve his personal interests for the common good of all.

Israel has demanded that CNN and it's International anchor, Christiane Amanpour apologize after she compared US President Trump’s four years in the White House to Kristallnacht - the deadly night at the start of the Holocaust .

During Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass," Nazis terrorized Jews throughout Germany and Austria on Nov. 9-10, 1938. They killed at least 91 people and vandalized 7,500 Jewish businesses. They also burned more than 1,400 synagogues, according to Israel's Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial.

Amanpour said during a segment over the weekend, commemorating 82 years after Kristallnacht,  that the event “was the Nazis' warning shot across the bow of our human civilization that led to genocide against a whole identity and, in that tower of burning books, it led to an attack on fact, knowledge, history, and proof.”

She added “After four years of a modern-day assault on those same values by Donald Trump, the Biden-Harris team pledges a return to normal.”

Israel did not take her comment lightly and the government has now asked her to apologize.

Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs Omer Yankelevich said that CNN “should be a partner in the global effort to fight anti-Semitism and not fuel the fire,” The Jerusalem Post reported.

“Using the memory of the Holocaust for cheap headlines or a political agenda is concerning and distorts the historical and moral truth,” Yankelevich added.

In a letter sent to CNN executive vice president Rick Davis, Israeli Consul-General in Atlanta, Anat Sultan-Dadon detailed the historic significance of Kristallnacht before lambasting Amanpour for disrespecting those who perished by using the Holocaust for political means

US President-elect Joe Biden has warned that more of Americans may die of Coronavirus if President Trump's administration continues to block a smooth transition, which would help his own incoming administration ''organize an effective vaccine distribution plan. ''

Trump has refused to concede the election, stating he won and would challenge Biden's electoral college victory in court.

Biden, who got over 270 electoral votes according to multiple US agencies, is moving on with plans with or without Trump's assistance with transitioning although he knows it'll be a Herculean task.

"More people may die if we don't coordinate," warned Biden, when asked by a reporter what would result of Trump's attempts to block the transition.

"How do we get over 300 million Americans vaccinated?" asked Biden, speaking in Wilmington, Delaware.

"What's the game plan? It's a huge, huge, huge undertaking to get it done."

"...If we have to wait until Jan. 20, to start that planning, it puts us behind over a month ... So it's important that it be done, that there be coordination now," he continued. "Now or as rapidly as we can get that done."

Later, in a response to a question from another reporter, Biden said he had spoken with a number of Republican lawmakers and said that he sympathized with the difficult position the President had put them in.

Michelle Obama has weighed in on Donald Trump and Melania Trump's refusal to move forward with a transition of power to the incoming administration.

The former US First Lady reflected on where she was four years ago and how angry she felt that Trump had won.

She stated that despite the fact that he had spread racist lies about her husband and put her family in danger, she and Obama invited the Trumps to their office and shared all they've learnt with them to help make their transition smooth.

She wrote: "This week, I’ve been reflecting a lot on where I was four years ago. Hillary Clinton had just been dealt a tough loss by a far closer margin than the one we’ve seen this year. I was hurt and disappointed—but the votes had been counted and Donald Trump had won. The American people had spoken. And one of the great responsibilities of the presidency is to listen when they do. So my husband and I instructed our staffs to do what George and Laura Bush had done for us: run a respectful, seamless transition of power—one of the hallmarks of American democracy.

"We invited the folks from the president-elect’s team into our offices and prepared detailed memos for them, offering what we’d learned over the past eight years.

"I have to be honest and say that none of this was easy for me. Donald Trump had spread racist lies about my husband that had put my family in danger. That wasn’t something I was ready to forgive. But I knew that, for the sake of our country, I had to find the strength and maturity to put my anger aside. So I welcomed Melania Trump into the White House and talked with her about my experience, answering every question she had—from the heightened scrutiny that comes with being First Lady to what it’s like to raise kids in the White House.

"I knew in my heart it was the right thing to do—because our democracy is so much bigger than anybody’s ego. Our love of country requires us to respect the results of an election even when we don’t like them or wish it had gone differently—the presidency doesn’t belong to any one individual or any one party. To pretend that it does, to play along with these groundless conspiracy theories—whether for personal or political gain—is to put our country’s health and security in danger. This isn’t a game. So I want to urge all Americans, especially our nation’s leaders, regardless of party, to honor the electoral process and do your part to encourage a smooth transition of power, just as sitting presidents have done throughout our history."

President Donald Trump is projected to have defeated the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden in Alaska, according to a CNN update of the US presidential results.

Meanwhile, the election commissioner for Philadelphia, Al Schmidt, has debunked claims that dead persons voted during the just-concluded United States (US) presidential election.

Schmidt noted that after a thorough investigation, it was discovered that there was no evidence to back up the allegations that deceased persons took part in the poll after their demise as claimed, NBC News reports.

The commissioner, therefore, described the report that has been spread on social media as ridiculous, saying the claims were void of evidence.

Former US President, Barack Obama, is set to join Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on the campaign trail in their first joint appearance during the final weekend of the election season.

Biden and Obama will visit the key battleground state of Michigan on Saturday to "discuss bringing Americans together to address the crises facing the country," the Biden campaign announced on Wednesday October 28.

Most Michigan polls show Biden leading President Donald Trump in the state. However, Trump won Michigan by 10,704 votes in 2016, and will return to Oakland County on Friday for his own campaign visit.

US 2020: Barack Obama to join Joe Biden on campaign trail for final weekend push before election

Obama won Michigan in 2008 and 2012. Democrats hope Obama can help motivate Black men, Latinos and younger voters to turn out and vote for Biden and vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris.

Obama has held three solo appearances over the past week campaigning Biden who was his former vice president, as they plan to unseat Obama's successor President Donald Trump.

Last week in Pennsylvania, Obama delivered his most direct attack against Trump to date, hitting him on everything from his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, to his behavior in office and jobs record.

Trump on Tuesday appeared to be watching Obama's rally in Orlando.
"Now @FoxNews is playing Obama's no crowd, fake speech for Biden, a man he could barely endorse because he couldn't believe he won," Trump tweeted Tuesday, referring to Obama's decision to sit out the Democratic primary.

Biden's campaign say they will hold drive-in rallies, in order not to attract large packed crowds that can spread the coronavirus disease..

The FBI has charged six men over an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

According to an FBI complaint Thursday, the alleged plot included plans to overthrow several state governments that the suspects "believe are violating the US Constitution," including the government of Michigan and Whitmer.

FBI charge six men accused in plot to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer
Whitmer has been the target of multiple death threats after issuing stay at home orders to curb coronavirus.
In April, protesters and militia gathered at the state capitol for a rally telling her to lift her stay-at-home order.

At one point in the spring, armed protesters entered the state capitol, where it is legal to openly carry firearms, and demanded an end to Michigan's state of emergency.

The FBI became aware of the plot to kidnap Whitmer in early 2020 through social media and have now listed the group of individuals.

The six individuals charged in the Western District of Michigan with conspiracy to kidnap are Michigan residents Adam Fox, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, Brandon Caserta, and Delaware resident Barry Croft.

According to Court documents released Thursday October 8, the FBI planted an undercover agent to travel to Dublin, Ohio, on June 6 for a meeting with Croft, Fox and about 13 others.

"They discussed different ways of achieving this goal from peaceful endeavors to violent actions ... Several members talked about murdering 'tyrants' or 'taking' a sitting governor," according to the complaint.

At a point during the meeting, the group discussed methods of increasing their members and Fox reached out to a "Michigan base militia group," according to the FBI complaint.

By June 14, a second confidential informant confirmed that Fox was introduced to the leader of the militia group and they met in Grand Rapids, Michigan ahead of the plot.

The informant audio recorded conversations with Fox in which he allegedly said he needed "200 men" to storm the Capitol building in Lansing and take hostages, including governor Whitmer.

According to the FBI complaint, Fox explained they would try the governor of Michigan for "treason" and he said they would execute the plan before the November 2020 elections.

On June 20, Fox, Garbin and others met at Fox's business in Grand Rapids where attendees turned over their cell phones that would be placed in a trap door hidden under a rug on the main floor after they met in a basement.
 .

"The attendees discussed plans for assaulting the Michigan State Capitol, countering law enforcement first responders, and using 'Molotov cocktails' to destroy police vehicles.

The attendees also discussed plans for an additional meeting during the first weekend of July when they also would conduct firearms and tactical training," according to the criminal complaint.

The five defendants attended court today, Thursday afternoon.

Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, a Republican, strongly condemned the threat against the governor.

"A threat against our governor is a threat against us all," Shirkey said in a statement.
"We condemn the actions of the group of individuals that plotted against Governor Whitmer and state government. These people are not patriots. There is no honor in their actions. They are criminals and traitors, and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

Mary Trump, US President Donald Trump's niece who recently wrote a book revealing unsavoury details about her uncle, has filed a lawsuit accusing the President and his siblings of committing fraud in order to deprive her of her interests in the family real-estate empire built by Fred Trump Sr, Trump's father .

In the Thursday September 24 lawsuit, filed in New York state court against the President, his sister Maryanne Trump Barry and the estate of their late brother Robert Trump, Mary states that to the Trumps, "fraud was not just the family business—it was a way of life."

She accuses her two uncles and her aunt, a retired federal judge, of conspiring amongst themselves and with several other parties, including a trustee appointed to act on Mary's behalf, to give her "a stack of fraudulent valuations" and force her to sign a settlement agreement that "fleeced her of tens of millions of dollars or more."

"Rather than protect Mary's interests, they designed and carried out a complex scheme to siphon funds away from her interests, conceal their grift, and deceive her about the true value of what she had inherited," the lawsuit says.

In her new book,"Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man.", she alleged she was cut out of her grandfather's will as a result of her father's death, with the now late Robert Trump allegedly explaining to her that she was excluded because her father died of alcoholism, and wasn't around to inherit a share of the fortune.

In the lawsuit Mary also accused Donald Trump of trying to "steal vast sums of money from his siblings" by secretly trying to change his ailing father's will to write his siblings out of control of the family's fortune.

Mary Trump was 16 years old when her father died in 1981 from alcoholism, and she and her brother, Fred Trump III, inherited minority interests in his really estate.

Due to the fact she was a teenager, the lawsuit says, a lawyer named Irwin Durben, who had been Trump Sr.'s attorney and an executive at Trump-related entities, was appointed to act as a trustee on her behalf.

But according to the lawsuit, Durben, who died in 2016, was "irredeemably conflicted," siding with Mary's family members over her own interests, "and ultimately acquiesced in Defendants' campaign to squeeze her out of the family business entirely."

By the 1990s, with Trump Sr. suffering from Alzheimer's, Mary Trump's lawsuit alleges, his sons Donald and Robert and his daughter Maryanne at first competed with each other, "with palace intrigue reminiscent of the HBO series Succession," but then worked together to advance their interests to the detriment of others.

In 1991, Donald secretly approached Durben, according to the lawsuit, to get him to draft a codicil to give Donald complete control of his father's estate, the lawsuit says. After his father rejected the codicil, Maryanne "finished the job," securing a revised will that named her, Donald and Robert the executors of their father's estate.

Mary Trump has previously sued the Trump family, but they reached a settlement including a non-disclosure agreement that Robert Trump, who died in August, tried and failed to enforce before her book was published.

In addition to alleging the elder Trumps committed fraud, Mary Trump's lawsuit accuses them of breaching their fiduciary duty and committing negligent misrepresentation.
"Through each of these schemes," the lawsuit says, "Defendants not only deliberately defrauded Mary out of what was rightfully hers, they also kept her in the dark about it—until now."
