Bayern Munich are now Club World Cup champions after beating Mexican side Tigres 1-0 on Thursday night, making history as the second team after Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona team to win a historic sextuple (six trophies in one year)

Benjamin Pavard scored the only goal of the game and the Bundesliga giants are now undisputed champions of Germany, Europe and the World.

Bayern now have all six titles available to them - the Bundesliga, Champions League, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, their national domestic cup (DFB-Pokal) and super cup (DFL-Supercup).

Bayern Munich win Club World Cup, matching Barcelona

Before Bayern's win on Thursday night, Barcelona were the only team ever to hold all six titles at the same time before.

In 2009, Barcelona coached by Guardiola won La Liga, the Copa del Rey, Supercopa de Espana, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Bayern manager Hansi Flick took over as interim boss in November 2019 following the sacking of Niko Kovac.

Since then, Flick has remarkably won more trophies (6) than he has lost competitive games (5).

Wole Soyinka, has said he doesn't believe that President Buhari is in charge of the country.

According to the Noble laureate, the manner the President has so far handled insecurity, suggests that he doesn't have a full grasp of how bad it is.

Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Soyinka said he doesn’t see any proof that the president understands how much needs to be done in terms of improving security.

“I have said this before and I wish to repeat this. Buhari does not appreciate the situation; he doesn’t understand. I see no evidence that he understands how grave the situation is. I have said it again and again, I don’t believe that he is in charge, because it is not possible in my view for a head of state, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, to say he is presiding over a nation and things get to this level.

Something is critically wrong within the leadership of this nation and that is where we civilians must come in. You must pick up this slack for our own situation, our own salvation, and this is one of the things we engaged in and that is why I resent this becoming individualised. Wole Soyinka is just another individual, just like another farmer, another student and I wanted people to understand this.

What happened to me with this incident is just typical of what is happening to millions of people all over the country and we cannot just sit still” he said

The 33-year -old forward will now miss Uruguay's upcoming games against Argentina and Bolivia after he landed a two-match ban for a challenge on Richarlison last year.

In the World Cup qualifier, Cavani was dismissed following a mistimed tackle in the 71st minute after he landed squarely on the Everton forward's ankle.

Initially, the referee gave him a yellow card but was advised by VAR to check again on the pitchside monitor. He was then given his marching orders and Uruguay went on to lose the qualifier 2-0.

"I think it was a ball dispute, he went over the top," Richarlison said after the game. "If my foot was stuck it might have even broken my ankle, but I think it wasn’t bad. He tried to steal the ball and ended up missing."

Uruguay face Argentina and Bolivia in the March international break and FIFA confirmed Cavani will not be able to play in either match. The ban will be beneficial to United as he will be fully rested for the final weeks of the season after the March international break.

The 40-year-old has had a successful four-hour surgery where the adhesive was removed, according to TMZ, which was given exclusive access to photos of the surgery.

Prior to the surgery, Brown had her ponytail extension cut off at the root leaving the base of her hair, which remained glued down. The surgery was performed by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng, who offered to do the procedure for free, TMZ reported.

In an interview with TMZ, Obeng explained that the formula he used to remove the heavy-duty adhesive from Brown’s hair included a medical-grade adhesive remover, acetone, and more natural solutions like aloe vera and olive oil.

“The surgery went well. She had a lot of irritation on the scalp especially the edges of her hair, of her head because of all of the chemicals that she has put in, and the hair was actually very, very tough, very, very matted down, and it would not lift up. She’s very, very lucky that she did not sustain a lot of injury to her scalp,” said Obeng.

President Muhammadu Buhari has called for the reformation of the structures and operations of the African Union.

The President who spoke during a virtual intervention at the ongoing two-day 34th Summit of the AU, also congratulated elected members of the African Union Commission, 2021, which include the Chairman, Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chad, and Deputy Chairman, Dr Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Rwanda.

According to President Buhari, AU would become stale except it becomes more result oriented.

A statement released by Buhari's media aide, Garba Shehu read;

President Muhammadu Buhari has called for a comprehensive reform of the structures and operations of the African Union, to make it more functional in meeting targets, warning that the organization would become stale, except it becomes more result oriented.

In an intervention at the ongoing two-day 34th Summit of the AU, held virtually, the President said:  “As your excellences are no doubt aware, global realities demand that the AU be overhauled, if it must remain relevant in intergovernmental processes.

“We must work concertedly to ensure a productive, self-sufficient and purpose driven organization that will fully serve the interests of the people.

“As we commence the operationalization of this new structure and system, Nigeria demands a truly reformed, efficient and effective AU Commission, one that is fully committed to the discharge of its duties and responsibilities.’’

President Buhari commended President Paul Kagame of Rwanda for presenting a special report on the need to reform the AU.

The President also appreciated the support of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in the election of Amb. Bankole Adeoye as Commissioner, Political Affairs, Peace and Security.

President Buhari notes, with gratitude, the overwhelming and historic endorsement of the ambassador with 55 votes, an indication that all the members voted, while congratulating the career diplomat, who also serves as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the AU and UNECA.

President Buhari urges Amb. Adeoye to deploy his knowledge and experience in foreign policy and diplomacy, particularly on bilateral and multilateral issues, to bring value to the new position, with an assurance of the country’s support.

The President congratulates all elected members of the African Union Commission, 2021, which include the Chairman, Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chad, and Deputy Chairman, Dr Monique Nsanzabaganwa, Rwanda.
