According to reports in Italy, Arsenal have emerged as the number one contenders to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer. Osimhen has netted 17 goals for the Naples outfit this season and has been attracting several Premier League offers after his fine displays in Serie A.

Arsenal will be in need of a new striker next season as they aim to secure Champions League football next season with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah, the club's only recognized strikers at the moment.

According to Gazetta dello Sport, the Gunners are already making moves to revamp their frontline ahead of next season-now ahead of the pack in the race to sign Osimhen.

Arsenal will have to meet Napoli's price tag for Osimhen, with the club reportedly set to hold out for a huge 100 million euros (£84m).

Their move for Osimhen will depend on whether they make the Champions League, it adds, with Arsenal battling Tottenham for a top-four spot. They are currently two points ahead of their rivals with four games left.

Manchester United are also linked with a move for the player, the report claims, while Newcastle are also monitoring the situation and would be able to meet Napoli's huge demands.

A Manchester United legend has revealed one of the most traumatic experiences he suffered as a teenager; being sexually abused at the age of 13.

The famous Manchester United left-back, Patrice Evra, opened up about how he grew up with a rough life on a new BBC One show dubbed "Freeze the Fear". Speaking on the show about his early life before being a famous footballer, Evra said during his childhood he used to "hustle," selling drugs and begging for food.

Opening up about his sexual abuse, Evra stated that he was abused by his school's principal and that he [Evra] still remembers this traumatic experience.I did like three things before playing football: sell drugs, Begging in front of the shop for money and working in a TV shop One is not true.

I didn’t sell any TVs. The other two are true. I was like 13.

He added

Being sexually abused at the age of 13 had a massive impact on my life. You just feel shame about yourself. When you don’t trust the authorities, because it was my headteacher, you don’t trust anybody else.

The retired Manchester United star was born in the capital city of Senegal, Dakar. From Dakar, Evra moved to Belgium, where he later left, only to settle in France.

After settling in France, Evra tried his luck, becoming a footballer at the age of 17. Football later saved him from his ‘chaotic’ and rough background.

The football saved me. When I was 17, I traveled to Italy. I remember when we arrived and we were sitting all the time and they were serving us food. I got into my room. I wore a tracksuit and I called my Mum and said, ‘Mum, here is like heaven, people are serving us food, it’s like two forks on one side, two knives on one side’. That’s my best memory.

During his football career, Evra played for Juventus, AS Monaco, Marseille, and Manchester United. At Man United, he bagged five premier league titles, three League Cups, and the Champions League.

The 20-year-old Manchester United footballer was arrested in January after images and videos were posted online. He was also questioned on suspicion of making threats to kill.

Greenwood was released on conditional bail, which was due to expire on Saturday, April 30.

In an update on the investigation, Greater Manchester Police said: "We are continuing to investigate a report made to us on Sunday, January 30th of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence." A 20-year-old man arrested that day on suspicion of rape, assault, and threats to kill a woman is still being held on bail.

An application has been made to the courts to have his bail extended beyond Saturday 30 April, but the hearing isn't expected to be until mid-June.

"The suspect will remain on conditional bail until the date of the court hearing." Shortly after the allegations surfaced online, the striker was suspended from playing or training with the Old Trafford club until further notice.

Greenwood's sponsorship deal with Nike was suspended and later terminated, and Electronic Arts confirmed his removal from active squads in its Fifa 22 game.

Manchester United and Arsenal both registered interest in signing Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis, his agent has claimed. Dennis has been in top form since joining the Premier League side, having already scored six goals and recorded five assists.

He put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Watford over the summer but would have joined  United or Arsenal if they had matched Club Brugge's price tag.

The two clubs were put off by the £25million valuation slapped on him- but Watford made a move with a deal worth just £3.4m after he ran his contract down in Belgium.

'Arsenal were interested in the past and Manchester United were also interested, but for Club Brugge were demanding a ridiculous fee for him,' Drew Uyi told The Football Show YouTube channel.

They wanted £25m, while these clubs were prepared to pay £15m.

'In the end he joined Watford for £3.4m because his contract was running out. 'He was frustrated at Club Brugge, he was not happy because no young man would be if he were stopped from such opportunities [as Arsenal and Manchester United].'

Speaking ahead of his side's clash against Brentford, Claudio Ranieri has insisted Dennis has the quality to play for many of the teams he is scoring against.

Eleven teams qualified so far for the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League last 16. The complete field of 16 teams that will advance to the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League knockout rounds has not yet been finalized. The final round of matches will be played on December 7 and 8. Manchester City beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Wednesday but both clubs qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, along with Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting Lisbon reached the knockout phase for the first time since the 2008-2009 season as they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in the Portuguese capital.
Dortmund’s campaign has been derailed by the continued absence of Erling Haaland with a hip injury and they will have to settle for a place in the Europa League.

Liverpool were already qualified for the last 16 going into their tie against Porto at Anfield and Thiago Alcantara’s superb low shot and Mohamed Salah’s sixth goal of this season’s group phase wrapped up a comfortable 2-0 win.

Atletico Madrid lost 1-0 at home to AC Milan after a dramatic late winner from Milan substitute Junior Messias, a defeat that leaves the Spanish side bottom of Liverpool’s Group B.

Diego Simeone’s team must beat Porto in their final game on December 7 and hope that Liverpool win away against AC Milan, who sit just a point behind the Portuguese club.

However, eleven teams qualified so far for the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League last 16.

They are:
