A Nigerian man, Dr. Kelechukwu Onwukamike, has proven his Chemistry teacher wrong by rising to the highest level of academic excellence years after his abilities were in doubt.
Dr. Kelechukwu who is now the proud recipient of 2 PhDs in Chemistry, has narrated how there was a time in his life when his Chemistry teacher mocked his ability to make an “A” in the subject.
He used his life to pass a message on how people shouldn’t allow criticism hinder them from being great and to inspire others, saying they should not give up in life.In his LinkedIn post, the PhD holder wrote;
"Is this how you are going to have an A-grade in Chemistry?
It was 2007, practical exam for GCE A-level Chemistry exam.
I had told my teacher then that I would make an A-grade in the subject; not the most easiest subject to get an A-grade.
On the day of the practicals, the teacher came to my desk, looked at my work and shook his head in dismay.
I was worried, disturbed, couldn’t figure out where I had gone wrong.
Then the exam was over and just as I was about to leave the hall, my teacher approached me with one comment “Is this how you are going to have an A-grade in Chemistry”?
Tell my teacher:
5months after, the results were released, I had a A-grade.
4years later, in 2011 I graduated with a First Class degree in Chemistry.
12 years later, in 2019 I graduated with a Double PhD degree in Chemistry
13 years later, in 2020, I got the Germany best PhD award in Chemistry.
So dear #mentees #connections #linkedinfam do you have anyone that still doubt your capability? Go tell them that very soon, they will be shocked of what you will become.
For no one can limit what you can become-
If you think you can, you are correct.
If you think you can´t, you are correct.
Choose your own “correct”.
Till we all win”
