Drake Announces New Album Certified Lover Boy Release Date, Nike Merchandise

Certified Lover Boy, the new anticipated album from Drake is set to be released in January 2021.

Drake did not give a specific date but a trailer released on his YouTube channel said the album which fans expected to be released this year, will be released in the first month of 2021.

The trailer makes visual references to Drake’s previous releases Take Care, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, and Nothing Was The Same.

While little is known about the new album, Roy Woods who is signed to OVO Sound said he had sent a few songs to Drake for the project. He is not sure if the songs will feature on Drake’s next project. Drake revealed the title of his follow up album to 2018’s Scorpion in August this year. A month prior, engineer Noel Cadastre said Drake’s Certified Lover Boy was 90 percent complete.

This year alone Drake released a mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes and collaborated on Headie One’s single “Only You Freestyle”, “Life Is Good” with Future, and two tracks with DJ Khaled, with his latest collaborations being on Bryson Tiller’s album Anniversary and a remix of Yung Bleu’s You’re Mines Still.

In related news, Drake has collaborated with Nike to release Certified Lover Boy merchandise. The merch was made available on drakerelated.com. The merchandise includes a pink bomber jacket with a quilted heart pattern that Drake first wore on the video of  “Laugh Now Cry Later” released in August.

Other Certified Lover Boy Merch includes a white cap with a red lipstick mark on the brim and socks with hearts that include the Nike swoosh. Graphic T-shirts and hoodies are also featured, adorned with the CLB logo, roses, and Cupids. Prices start at US$18.
